The exam
What is the ISTQB CTFL 4.0 exam like?
The Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) v4.0 exam has 40 multiple-choice questions. You have 60 minutes (75 if the exam is not in your first language), and you pass with 26 correct answers (65%). Questions come from all six chapters of the syllabus: 8, 6, 4, 11, 9 and 2 questions.
Is the ISTQB exam included in the class price?
Yes. Every live CTFL class includes your ISTQB CTFL exam voucher from Brightest (brightest.org), an ISTQB exam provider. Once you are registered, request it from your dashboard and we email it to you. You book your exam date with Brightest whenever you are ready.
Where do I take the exam?
With our live class, your ISTQB CTFL exam voucher from Brightest (brightest.org) is included in the class price: request it from your dashboard and we email it to you, then book your exam with Brightest, online with a remote proctor. Our booking guide walks through the steps: xstellar8.com/ctfl-exam-booking
The course
How do the 3, 4, 5 and 6-day classes differ?
Only in pace. Every class covers the same 24 hours of instruction, exercises and exam technique. The 6-day class runs in the evenings, Monday to Saturday, for people who work during the day.
What happens if a class doesn't fill?
A class runs once it reaches its minimum size, normally 12 students. If it doesn't, you choose another date or get a full refund.
Is the course ISTQB accredited?
Our CTFL 4.0 course is pending ISTQB accreditation. Your instructor, Susan J Ruckman, is certified to teach CTFL 4.0. The exam itself is the same official ISTQB exam whichever course you take, and you book it separately with an exam provider.
What if I don't pass the exam?
If you don't pass the exam, you may sit in another public offering of the same class at no additional charge. Ask from your dashboard once your class has finished; we'll confirm your new class by email.
Practice exams
Is there a free practice exam?
Yes. Create a free account to take Practice Exam 1 on the same screen as your real exam provider.
How long can I use the practice exams?
A Student Pass unlocks every practice exam for as long as it is active. Class registrations include two months of simul8R.
